Dr. Carlos Gomez-Restrepo is a distinguished figure in the medical and academic communities of Colombia. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, a position he has held since 2017. With a background in psychiatry, clinical epidemiology, and public health, he has made significant contributions to the field of mental health through his extensive research and publications. His work has focused on a wide range of areas, including resilience, depression, affective disorders, suicide, anxiety disorders, alcohol use, and digital health. Dr. Gomez-Restrepo has directed or co-directed numerous international and national research projects, and he has been recognized with several awards for his contributions to science and medicine, including two National Prizes from the National Academy of Medicine. In addition to his research and academic leadership, he has also held various clinical appointments and committee memberships, demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare.
